Turning Down Barack Obama.......

Feminist leader says no to Obama

Brian Peterson, Star Tribune

Koryne Horbel in 2002

Koryne Horbel wants feminists to back Clinton. She demands that Florida and Michigan attend the national convention.

Koryne Horbal, the 71-year-old founder of the DFL Feminist Caucus, doesn't care whether her idea costs Democrats the White House.

Though she acknowledges it is a difficult sell, Horbal said she and other feminists are promising not to vote for Barack Obama and write in Hillary Rodham Clinton's name in November if the disputed Florida and Michigan delegations are not fully seated at the Democratic National Convention and Obama becomes the presidential nominee.

New Group Pressures D.N.C. in Ads

A group headed by donors to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton hastily formed a new political action committee this week and began running a television advertisement in the Washington, D.C. area on Friday imploring the Democratic National Committee to seat the entire delegations from both Florida and Michigan.

The group, Count The Votes Cast, filed a statement of organization with the Federal Elections Commission on Thursday and bought air time on a local network and CNN for their 30-second spot.

Cardinal George weighs in on Pfleger flap

FIRST THINGS FIRST...........

The first thing I read today is worth passing on. While it may not be from RCP or the NYT I think it is important. It is titled Popular vote campaign gains popularity and comes to us from Boston Herald.com....In it Wayne Woodlief quotes Rep. Marty Walsh almost at the end....

“We’re preaching democracy all over the world, but our voting doesn’t always reflect that . . . We have a chance to make sure the vote of every man and woman counts.

While they are talking about the GE in this piece I believe this should apply to the primary vote...Take a look at this piece if you have time, Wayne starts out by saying.....

"What? Barack Obama just creamed John McCain in the nationwide popular vote, but McCain prevails because he won in the Electoral College?

What? California went for a Republican for the first time since 1988, giving McCain a decisive 55 electoral votes?

Neither scenario is implausible. The referendum in California to reverse a state Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage seems certain to bring out hundreds of thousands of conservative voters. And if enough irate Hillary Clinton voters carry out their threats to sit out the election or even vote for McCain, ol’ Mac would be in clover."

From the page.....some Clinton-backing members of the Rules and Bylaws Committee aren’t planning on voting her way. If all of Clinton’s supporters on the committee aren’t in line, seating the two state’s entire delegations with a full vote each would face almost certain defeat.

______________________________________________________________

Our votes don't matter for diddley shit! Why do we bother anymore...They have taken away our rights yet again....When we vote and the pledged delegates go to the person according to the amount of votes received that is fine....but in a race this close and a state goes for someone by something like 41% and the supers for the state go to the loser they are going against the wishes of the voters...well their votes did not matter....I live in a state where this is taking place and I will not support these people in future elections. All I have to say to these people who are doing this is you are disgusting! Superdelegates are not meant to follow pledged delegates, I know... but what are you saying to the people who voted...remember these are the voters who put you in office also.....see if we do it again!

GO McCain..............

Love this...........

May 29, 2008 -- A new polling analysis spells potential trouble in the fall for Democratic front-runner Barack Obama: He struggles against Republican candidate John McCain even in states where he defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In the 28 states won by Obama, he has an average 45 percent of voters compared to McCain's 46 percent, according to the Gallup survey.

These states include Obama's home turf of Illinois, along with Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and the battleground states of Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri.

In a McCain-Clinton matchup in those same states, McCain has 47 percent to Clinton's 45 percent.

By comparison, Clinton clobbers McCain, 50 percent to 43 percent, in the 20 states where the New York senator carried primaries and caucuses against Obama.

Clinton strongholds included solidly Democratic New York and California, as well as battleground states Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico and West Virginia.

McCain averages 46 percent to Obama's 43 percent in the Clinton states.

The Gallup analysis bolsters Clinton's contention she'd have a better chance than Obama in defeating McCain.

"Clinton appears to have the stronger chance of capitalizing on her primary strengths in the general election," said Gallup pollster Lydia Saad.

"At this stage in the race, there is some support for her argument that . . . she would be stronger than Obama in the general election."

Obama also has strength in some "purple" states that often determine presidential elections.

Obama leads McCain, 49 to 41, in a handful of swing states he carried against Clinton - Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri. McCain leads Clinton by one point in these states.

But Clinton leads McCain, 49 to 43, in swing states she carried against Obama: Nevada, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Arkansas and disputed Florida and Michigan.

Even when excluding Michigan and Florida, Clinton leads McCain, 51 to 41, in her favored battlegrounds.

"Clinton's main advantage is that her states - including Florida and Michigan - represent nearly twice as many Electoral College votes in November," the Gallup analysis said.

The analysis came as the high-flying Obama played constructive critic to a class of eighth-graders in Colorado.

Speaking to kids after they made classroom presentations on what they'd learned over the last year at the Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts in Thornton, Obama both praised and critiqued them.

Theodore Rodriguez, 13, got high marks for his warm personality but was advised to look at his audience more and finish his thought before moving on.

"You got a little nervous. It's understandable. It's not every day you have to speak in front of the national press," said Obama, who was accompanied at the school by a large number of reporters and camera crews.

"This is really hard to do, by the way," Obama added. "Not only could I not have done it in eighth grade, I probably couldn't have done it just before I ran for president."

Need a laugh today......

I don't know what is funnier.....the Obama voters or one of the pictures I received in an e-mail.

Rezko Making It Into The News .......UPDATED

Is it going to be one of those days?? Maybe.. maybe not..who really cares anymore...well some do.

Antoin "Tony" Rezko

Fundraiser faces arrest in multiple gaming debts
Donor’s ties to Obama were scrutinize

A Las Vegas judge has issued a felony arrest warrant for a politically connected Chicago businessman whose ties to Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama have become an issue in the campaign.

Antoin “Tony” Rezko, who is standing trial on federal corruption charges in Chicago, is wanted in Las Vegas for failing to pay $472,275 in gambling debts to Caesars Palace and Bally’s and related processing fees to the Clark County district attorney’s office.

The total unpaid Strip bill comes to more than $800,000, however, because the Bellagio obtained a judgment of default against Rezko a year ago for not repaying $331,000 in gambling markers.

A federal jury has been deliberating Rezko’s fate the past two weeks following two months of testimony in a corruption trial linked to the administration of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Rezko, a 52-year-old real estate developer and fast-food entrepreneur, was once considered part of Blagojevich’s inner circle, as well as a prominent donor and fundraiser for Obama.

Obama acknowledged early in the campaign that it had been a mistake to enter into a 2005 land deal with Rezko at a time when the businessman was under federal scrutiny.

While at a Chicago law firm, Obama also had done legal work involving housing developments owned by Rezko. In the Las Vegas case, records show, Justice of the Peace Nancy Oesterle issued the warrant for Rezko’s arrest May 20 at the request of Chief Deputy District Attorney Bernie Zadrowski, who runs the bad check unit. Unpaid casino markers are treated as bad checks in Nevada.

Zadrowski and District Attorney David Roger declined to comment, but courthouse sources said Las Vegas authorities, aware of Rezko’s trial in Chicago, notified federal authorities there about the outstanding warrant Tuesday. If Rezko is convicted in Chicago, he’ll likely remain under the supervision of federal authorities and the Nevada charges will take a back seat, the sources said.

Pelosi vows to prevent fight at Dem convention

(05-28) 20:17 PDT San Francisco -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will step in if necessary to make sure the presidential nomination fight between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama does not reach the Democratic National Convention - though she believes it could be resolved as early as next week.

Pelosi predicted Wednesday that a presidential nominee will emerge in the week after the final Democratic primaries on June 3, but she said "I will step in" if there is no resolution by late June regarding the seating of delegates from Florida and Michigan, the two states that defied party rules by holding early primaries.

"Because we cannot take this fight to the convention," she said. "It must be over before then."

Here is something I am happy to see....
Clinton gets deep-pockets boost from loyalists

With just three Democratic primaries left and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's chances at her party's nomination increasingly a longshot, determined and deep-pocketed supporters based in San Francisco have launched an effort to keep the New York senator's campaign alive - making a case for counting primary votes in Michigan and Florida.

Susie Tompkins Buell, a longtime friend of Clinton's and - along with her husband, Mark Buell - one of the country's most generous Democratic donors, is one of the forces behind the WomenCount political action committee.

Since its formation earlier this month, the group has spent at least $140,000 to publish full-page ads in newspapers around the country in support of Clinton, according to the organization's papers on file with the Federal Elections Commission.

The committee's ads, headlined "Not So Fast," urge that the votes of women - who make up 51 percent of the American electorate - be fully counted in the 2008 presidential election.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Howard Dean arrived at this month's New Hampshire Democratic Party convention with the purposeful brusqueness that has marked his years on the national stage, climbing out of his rental car with hardly a word for anyone before retreating into a holding area.

The chairman of the Democratic National Committee was there to deliver another of his famous red-meat speeches, exhorting the party faithful to evict the Republicans from the White House. But even amid the applause, there were signs of the Democratic Party's current discord in the room. Supporters of Hillary Clinton held up signs proclaiming: "Gov. SUNDAY MORNING TALK 5/25/08

Click Picture to go to "This Week"
You have to watch David Axelrod of the Obama campaign and GOP strategist Karl Rove on "This Week" if you missed it. George did a good job asking the questions this week. So you can see I didn't watch "Meet The Press" but you can here.I might watch it later. I always try to watch "Reliable Sources"....Today they covered how Senator Clinton has been treated by the MSM...who are all Obama supporters. They played clips that seem to come from the first video that ShutThe FreudUp made...A lot of the talking points seem to come from this piece "Hating Hillary".....it was a very good show today. One thing that was brought up was how women have been saying terrible things about Hillary...(Randy Rhodes was brought up and female radio personality's)... and it seems to be ok for them to say the things they do, also why do they do this when they have had to fight the same battles as Senator Clinton. ....It made me think how black people can say things about other blacks and it is just fine but if you are white and are heard saying these things it is far from just fine....You know how the double standards have been in this race. They also brought up how the lady asked McCain "How do we beat the Bitch?" What gave her the right to stand up if front of a crowd and call another woman this?.....That is a question I would like to have an answer to myself....You can get a Podcast of the show here....On to other Sunday talk....."Face The Nation" has not aired yet but todays guest will be Howard Wolfson ...Director of Communications, Clinton Campaign.... Sen. Lindsey Graham..(R) South Carolina..... Sen. Dick Durbin ...(D) Illinois.....The topic will be ...The Race For The White House....

(Something I have noticed today is a cry for unity....I say to late
for that....When Obama made more out of the comment than was there

his campaign does....takes things out of context to make Hillary
look bad.)

Will it go to the convention....It looks like we will have a nominee
before then...It should be Clinton...look at the map!
We are not there yet when it comes to the numbers.

Sen. Lindsey Graham
John McCain is starting the vetting for VP. but not at his BBQ.

John McCain was the one who advocated for more troops in Iraq.

Obama has not been in Iraq since 2006, he needs to go back and
see how things have changed. Says the two should go to Iraq together.

Sen.Durbin says about Obama going back....
Should the two go to Iraq together?
No....Says Obama not calling for an immediate withdraw.... Says Obama has talked
with the Gen. ...Talks about an ad about Obama...527?

Graham says he is not involved in any ad....says Obama needs to go to Iraq again...
he needs to talk to military families and talk about things... How can you make a
decision about Iraq if you haven't been there in two years?

This does not cover all said, please watch online at "Face The Nation"

Media hype: How small stories become big news

It would be a big story if Clinton said something like this: “Hey, I know it looks bad for me now. But, think about it. Obama could get shot and I’d get to be the nominee after all.”

It is a small story if Clinton said something like this: “Everyone talks like May is incredibly late, but by historical standards it is not. Think of all the famous milestones in presidential races that have taken place during June.”

It seems pretty obvious that the latter is what Clinton meant, and not too far from what she actually said. It was not surprising that the Argus Leader’s executive editor, Randall Beck, put out a statement saying, “Her reference to Mr. Kennedy’s assassination appeared to focus on the time line of his primary candidacy and not the assassination itself.”

About the FAKE SITE!

I am getting e-mails from people calling me a fake, Hey it is not my site.
FAKE SITE .....if you are reading this at McCain Dem/Clinton Republican, that is my site.

E-MAIL I RECEIVED:

Hi: Well I feel like throwing my hand in the air and say to hell with it all. These people in Ohio who were on Fox told me OK to start a website. Well I did, and now they are saying it is fake. If it is fake, why did they sent me a news release that I posted on the web site. I think all those people want is just the power and glory. I don't see anything that they are doing. They have no plans except we got thousand of people - where are they. Well if I have to distance myself from them, so be it. I do have a plan - the plan is simple. We will email all those on the DNC rules committee and tell them to seat Mi and Fl. Once we have done that, then we are going after the super delegates. I now have a list of all of the member of the rules committee and also the super delegates with their emails. You know those people in Ohio sound sorta like Obama. All these promises and no idea how to do it. You folks tell me what to do and I will be glad to do it. I had no idea that this was coming to that and all I wanted to do was just get the information out there. I have fought hard for Hillary and I will continue to do so. Words ain't worth nothing but action is and that is what I am doing. Thanks Ed

Hi All: I have been doing some thinking (that is dangerous for me) about how we can do a better job with this outfit. Here are some of the ideas:

1). Elect us a spokesperson.
If you want to be the spokespersons for this outfit, then send me a picture and
a recording on why you support Hillary. Once I receive all of these, I will post
them on the web site and we will all vote on who it will be. This person job will
be to go on TV and radio and tell our story. PS already had one major network
wanting me to go on but I am not interested in becoming a star.
2). We need to elect one of you who can be our press agent. This would require that
you write up press releases, get appearance for our spokesperson on radio and TV.
Send me a bio of yourself and why you could do this job and once again we will
vote.
3). We need 3 or 4 researcher. We need people who can find out information for us.If
you can do this send me a email.
4). I think we need to change our name. Since the people in Ohio has raised such a
stink about us being a "fake" web site. Email me your thoughts on that.
5). barhfarms@gmail.com is the email address you need to use for the above.

GIVE ME A BREAK!

What a joke! Are they serious? Just let me say... making Hillary Obama's VP. does not make Obama qualified to be president. No I will not vote for Obama because of who his VP. choice is. I am voting for president not vice president.

The democrat party has handed us the least qualified person and expect us to vote for him. No Thanks! I will go with John McCain. At least he has a record to look at. One that goes back years. Our country is in enough trouble without putting a freshman senator in charge. They have totally lost it in Washington and they have lost this 30 year democrat.

____________________________________________________________________

John McCain is releasing his medical records today. AP says he appears cancer free and healthy. That is great news. Also Washington Post talks about POW. after effects and says 5 1/2 years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam undoubtedly changed the course of his life. But now that he is 71, that remote trauma seems unlikely to shorten his life span or to lead to mental or physical conditions that are not already apparent. More good news for this Friday. Please read the entire piece.

I will pick a war hero over a freshman senator. We have two wars going on and I believe John has our troops best interest in mind when it comes to the decisions that he makes and will make in the future.

Carl Icahn has a few things to say about Obama and what his presidency would be like. He said that "Obama doesn't understand the economy," adding that he and a Democratic-weighted Senate would boost spending significantly, sending inflation soaring. If this was not enough to illustrate his disdain for Obama, he closed by saying, "I personally think he would be a terrible president." I totally agree!
____________________________________________________________________

I am sick of all the W.O.R.M.'s that come out of the Obama camp. He would be a terrible president...... All you people who think the MSM has been for Obama and have been stabbing Clinton in the back, think about this.....Did you believe them before they were so hard on Hillary? Did you trust them to tell you the true story before you saw they would spin anything to make Hillary look bad? How do we know that they have not been doing this all along. Twisting the facts to make us believe things that were not true? Didn't the White House have some question to the way NBC edited an interview with Pres. Bush? Did we ever question them before we saw the way they were supporting Obama? I didn't. I took their word for it. Well my eyes have been opened during this campaign. Why didn't I watch FOX News before? Because the people at MSNBC/NBC lead me to believe they were the ones (FOX) that were twisting things around. Now I see who is doing the spinning and twisting of the facts, it's not FOX News. My eyes have also been opened to the ways of the democratic party and I don't like what I see. Do I believe it has always been this way? I believed the party had changed drastically. Now that I see what has been going on at MSNBC/NBC I am not so sure it has not always been this way. They are so out of touch with Americans. Look at the states that have went to Senator Clinton but the superdelegates went to Obama. What is that, our votes don't matter? Why have these elections if they don't respect the vote at all. I am not leaving the democratic party, they left me. They left me when they thought it was just fine to disenfranchise two states in this election. If you have not noticed it yet MSNBC/NBC caters to the democratic party. They are spoon feeding democrats spin and expecting them to fall in line in November. I am not falling for it anymore. The elitist in Washington are picking your candidate for you democrats. Donna B. has been shown for who and what she really is (watch her 2min. and 20 seconds into that video.) and the same goes for Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi. John Kerry was tagged an elitist in 2004 and Ted Kennedy is even more of one. I am sure you didn't mind paying for their private airports but I do. Attaching things like that to a bill in Washington, having the taxpayers pay for little perks like airports has to stop. No they didn't build the bridge to no where but they got an airport too. That is better than the bridge but the other two airports should not have been paid for by taxpayers. Obama is the choice of the elitist in Washington not the choice of the people who have been a part of the democratic for years. We have been the base of the party for years. But as you all know Donna B. says "We don't need the blue collar voters and the Latino voters." Let the eggheads and AA voters have the democratic party because I am so done with it.

Obama :W.O.R.M. from YTDebates

Would you meet diplomatically with these countries' leaders?

From: YTdebates

Question was...

In 1982, Anwar Sadat traveled to Israel, a trip that resulted in a peace agreement that has lasted ever since. In the spirit of that type of bold leadership, would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?

Obama's answer.....

I would. And the reason is this, that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them -- which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration -- is ridiculous. Now, Ronald Reagan and Democratic presidents like JFK constantly spoke to Soviet Union at a time when Ronald Reagan called them an evil empire. And the reason is because they understood that we may not trust them and they may pose an extraordinary danger to this country, but we had the obligation to find areas where we can potentially move forward.

If you want to read Hillary and John Edwards answer I have a post about it here.

From Clinton Supporters Count Too: WARNING! THERE IS AN UNOFFICIAL WEBSITE WITH OUR GROUP’S NAME.

The ONLY official locations for information from CLINTON SUPPORTERS COUNT TOO! is this page and our blogspots which you receive in the auto-response from our 4 Email addresses listed below. When our official website is ready we will post it here on http://www.Hillaryis44.org.

E-MAIL I RECEIVED FROM THIS SITE:
HI all: First I would like to thank each one of you for joining CSCT. My name is Ed
Hale and I live in Wellington, TX. I set this web site up to make sure that Hillary Clinton is the next president of these United States. We will be doing several things in the next couple of weeks. I am going to outline some of the things I think we need to do.

1). All of us send out emails to our friends and get them to join us.
2). I need someone to get all the email addresses of all of the super delegates so that we can send them emails letting them know if they do not support Hillary, we are going to do our best to see that they get to stay home and twiddle their thumbs.
3). Once we have all of those emails, then we will start turning up the stove and burning their backsides.
4). I need the names and email address of the DNC rules committee members so that we can make them give Hillary her delegates she won in Mi and Fl. ( we now have them)
5). Visit as many blogs as you can and put our web site address there.

Now it is very important that we get at least a million members to CSCT. We can then tell the DNC and super delegates, it our way or the highway.

Note: I have been getting junk mail all day since I joined this site.

Does Obama's tepid finish spell trouble against McCain?

This Is Your Brain on God

McCain rejects pastor's endorsement

Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:
Danger Zone

Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin is being criticized for saying that John McCain's military background makes him dangerous.

Harkin told reporters on a conference call Friday, "He comes from a long line of just military people, so I think his whole world view, his life view, has been shaped from a military viewpoint and he has a hard time thinking beyond that and I think he's trapped in that. And I think that can be pretty dangerous."

A McCain spokesman called Harkin's remarks offensive and said they showed that Democrats are out of touch with American values.

How does this make you feel? Why is HBO showing this now? This will just stir the pot even more. I am a democrat who is fed up with the democratic party for the way they have not listened to the people and disenfranchised the voters once again in Florida and now adding Michigan to the list. Obama has stopped the re-vote for these two states. Obama is the chosen one of the party elitist, anyone with half a brain can see it...Hillary wins a state and the SD's from that state go to Obama. Our vote no longer matters to the democratic party. I am sure the republicans will enjoy having us on there team come November.

Statement by John McCain on Senator Barack Obama and Benefits for Our Veterans

"Perhaps, if Senator Obama would take the time and trouble to understand this issue he would learn to debate an honest disagreement respectfully. But, as he always does, he prefers impugning the motives of his opponent, and exploiting a thoughtful difference of opinion to advance his own ambitions. If that is how he would behave as President, the country would regret his election." -- John McCain

Obama plans general election team
WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama is quietly planning to take over the Democratic National Committee and assemble a multistate team for the general election, the latest sign that he is putting rival Hillary Rodham Clinton and the nomination fight behind him.

Top Obama organizer Paul Tewes is in discussions to run the party, several Democratic officials said Tuesday.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said no final decisions have been made on general election plans and that such decisions would be premature with Obama yet to clinch the nomination.
